First Time Installation:
Day: Thursday
Time: 6.00 pm to 6.30 pm
Installation Pooja: Sit in a mat facing North Side. Keep the Valampuri in front of you placed in a yellow silk cloth. Light an incense stick (Agarpathi). Offer white rice and milk. Recite the following Kubera Mantram:
" Om yakshaya kuberaya vaikravanaya Dhanathanyathi pathayae
Dhanathanya samruthim mae theahi thabaya swaha "
After this, keep the valampuri wrapped in the yellow silk cloth in your pooja room or locker or bureau or cupboard. On auspicious days like Diwali, Pongal, Ganesh Chathurthi, Indian New Year etc, light incense and offer rice and milk.
About Dakshinavarti / Valampuri / Lakshmi Shangu:
In any spiritual and Vedic ceremony, worship of Shankh is necessary. Wherever there is a Dakshinavarti Shankh Laxmi, Vishnu, and Maa Ambey dwell. It saves a house from incubuses if it is put there. Water and leaves of Tulsi kept for 24 hours in this Shankh turn to be as pious as Gangajal. A man may have showers of Lord Vishnu if he takes daily the water kept in it. It showers its promising effect on a businessman if he worships it by keeping it on the worship place in his officeshop etc.
The conch shell is thought to have been the original horn-trumpet; ancient Indian mythical epics relate heroes carrying conch shells. The Indian god Vishnu is also described as having a conch shell as one of his main emblems; his shell bore the name Panchajanya meaning 'having control over the five classes of beings.
Belief in mythology apart, the conch shell's significance is corroborated by science. Try holding a conch shell to your ear, the sound of the ocean humming gently can be heard. It is actually the natural vibration or cosmic energy of the earth that gets magnified on entering the conch shell. These unique whorls are directed clockwise in perfect synchronization with universal harmony. The vibrations from these conch shells can dispel evil forces from the earth and also clear environmental pollution including healing the hole in the ozone layer which causes global warming!"
