Team Leader is a key leadership position responsible for all aspects of Commodity Management and Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE) activities as follows reporting to Manager, Global Commodity SQE in USA: Experience in recruiting, developing and coaching high performance team of professional incl. Commodity Managers, SQE Data Analysts for compilation, consolidation, and analyzing data for various Supply Chain initiatives, such as supplier forecasting, buffer stock analysis, RFQ preparation, negotiation, and supplier quality matrix. On occasion these initiatives will involve engagement across multiple Supply Chain functions as well as other Trimble Business Units.Developing and nurturing key supplier relationships on an executive level, including managing executive reviews and score card cadence to drive supplier continuous improvement initiatives through use of six sigma and/or lean initiatives. Focal point for quick resolution of quality issues for production released part numbers.Participate and lead supplier technical evaluation, selection and supplier process qualification incl. leading on-site audits Identifying cost reduction initiatives and tracking savings flow thru, and preparing and presenting results to executive management. Support development maintenance of preferred supplier strategies.Commodity Management Team Leader position is required to work independently with minimal supervision to meet departmental goals while interfacing with Design Engineering, Commodity Managers, Supply Chain Managers, Corporate Quality, and Product Operations teams for sustaining improving Trimble inbound material spec. compliance and successful ramp to production volume from new product release.Key Responsibilities: Maintain subject matter expert skill set regarding supply base, trends, and market conditions especially semiconductor manufacturing process and packaging. Recruit, develop and coach Commodity mgr., SQE Data Analysts for compilation, consolidation, and analyzing data for various Supply Chain initiatives, such as supplier forecasting, buffer stock analysis, RFQ preparation, negotiation, and supplier quality matrix. On occasion these initiatives will involve engagement across multiple Supply Chain functions as well as other Trimble Business Units.Support in ensuring supply chain flexibility, identify potential risks to production and implement contingency support plans including: die banks, buffer stock agreements, and VMI programs. Monitor and/or identify potential risks, and develop contingency plans to ensure uninterrupted continuity of supply.Identify and evaluate new suppliers to support future technical, and capacity requirements, and optimize total cost. Support supplier performance assessments through Score Card cadence. Driving/tracking supplier continuous improvement initiatives including on-site supplier audits, closing supplier corrective/preventive actions in time and supplier audit discrepancies.Manage assigned commodities to support Trimble’s Products sourced and manufactured in multiple geographies to ensure supplier’s performance meets all Trimble requirements. Development maintenance of Commodity and Preferred Supplier Strategies in collaboration with Product Development and NPI Organizations. Identify and drive, if required, global cost reductions opportunities incl. yield improvements. Skills Experience Required:The successful candidate will have ten years plus of progressive experience managing a team and all aspects of Purchasing/Supply Chain and Supplier Quality Engineering. Strong experience in all aspects of material, purchasing and supplier quality management with emphasis on the following key areas:Experience in semiconductor manufacturing process and packaging with strong process control knowledge and technical management of custom part suppliers for PWB (bare boards), PCBA and electronic components Background and direct experience in Operations, Direct Procurement, and Commodity Management supporting PLC from NPI, through production ramp and EOL.Articulate written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting cross functionally and to all level of management, both internally and to suppliers. Ability to articulate strategy, vision, and support plans to Design and Product teams is critical. Strong team building skills with experience working with Design Engineering, Operations, Finance, and other groups in a multinational organization.Supplier evaluation including manufacturing process audits and verification of supplier’s capability and production capacity especially semiconductor mfg. process/packaging. Demonstrated problem solving, incl. leading root cause analysis, and mentoring skills including setting timelines and diligent follow-up to resolve supplier quality problems and meet product operations requirements.Project Management experience managing Low Cost Region (LCR) transition in accordance with cost and timing goals and deliverables. Strong negotiation skills with demonstrated history of cost reduction results utilizing negotiations, LCR, specification optimization, global leveraging, and yield improvement initiatives.Proficient skills with Microsoft Office: Power user of Excel and must be proficient in Word, PowerPoint and Project Management scheduling software. Working knowledge of international quality standards like ISO 9001, TS 16949 and AS9000 and quality methodology associated with Design of Experiments, gauge RR, process capability, statistical process control and Lean Six Sigma.BSEE / MBA with required technical experience in semiconductor process/packaging. CPM and/or CPIM certification and strong knowledge of MRP. Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in Purchasing/Procurement area. Management Experience. Other Requirements: Ability to travel on short notice Ability work off shifts/work time as required
